I’m encouraged to hear that investigators are chasing down leads far and wide. When last I spoke with Special Agent Mike Kennedy, the lead investigator on the case from Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement (FDLE), he said that things are progressing well and that the interviews they have conducted thus far have led to numerous other leads, meaning they have plenty more doors to knock upon.
On several occasions these interviews have taken the investigators out of state. I can only imagine what that must feel like to respond to a knock on your door to find a detective on your porch asking questions about people and events from a place and time you thought you’d left behind decades ago.
Even though Jimmy was murdered a long time ago, certain details tend to stick in a person’s mind when they concern something significant. There are people out there who hold pieces to this puzzle and when they come forward individually those little pieces drop into place and soon a picture takes form. This is what is happening right now.
My family feels so fortunate to have such dedicated and persistent professionals working to bring us this long-overdue justice.
